Osborne Morris & Morgan Solicitors

Specialist brain injury claim solicitors

At Osborne, Morris & Morgan we act for people with traumatic and acquired brain injuries and for the families making a claim on their behalf.

Our firm handles head and brain injuries from road traffic collisions, including cases where liability is disputed and injuries caused by medical negligence such as delayed diagnosis, birth complications or surgical error including cerebral palsy and Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE).

We also act in workplace and public liability claims, where a fall or industrial accident happened because someone else’s care fell short and in sport and school injury claims, where concussion or repeated head injury impact went unchecked by a club or governing body.

A claim usually starts with a free, unhurried first conversation, by phone or in person where we ask what happened and what support is needed now, not just about the legal claim. From there we investigate and secure the medical notes, accident reports, witness statements and all other relevant evidence.

Where liability is clear, most claims are resolved through negotiation, though we are prepared to issue court proceedings if the other side won’t act reasonably.

Once a claim settles, we also advise on what comes next, including how to manage an award if the injured person lacks capacity.

When it is your child that has suffered a brain injury

You may be dealing with hospital appointments, therapy visits, changes to your home while at the same time trying to come to terms with what has happened and worrying about how the injury will impact your child’s future.

We take the time to listen, answer any questions you may have and help you to understand what may be needed for your child now and in the years ahead. What a child needs at five will be very different to what they need at fifteen for example. We therefore, where appropriate, work with specialist medical professionals to build a picture of those needs so that any claim takes a full account of the future and not just the needs of today.
